Kamal elected chair of CFMM in 2022

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has been elected chairman of the Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ Meeting (CFMM) in 2022.

The finance ministers of 54 commonwealth countries elected Kamal as the chairman of CFMM in a virtual meeting on the sidelines of the World Bank-IMF Annual Meeting on October 12, the ministry said in a press release today.

A virtual meeting of commonwealth finance ministers was held on the evening of October 12 on the sidelines of the World Bank-IMF Annual Meeting-2021.

In the CFMM meeting, Malaysia proposed the name of Kamal and Brunei supported the proposal, it said.

The high-level representatives of the commonwealth countries also took part in the meeting.

After being elected, he, on behalf of all citizens of Bangladesh, thanked commonwealth countries for the opportunity to represent Bangladesh as the chairperson of the 2022 Commonwealth Finance Ministers' meeting.
