The existing price of diesel and kerosene has been increased by 75 paise to Tk. 107.75 from Tk. 107 per liter, the existing price of petrol has been increased from Tk. 124.50 by Tk. 2.50 to Tk. 127.00 and the existing price of octane has been increased by Tk. 2.50 to Tk. 131. 00 has been fixed.
The adjusted price will be effective from June 1, 2024. The government is adjusting the fuel oil price every month in accordance with the global market from last March, 2024 in the light of the automatic formula.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division said that the price of fuel oil has decreased slightly in the world market, but due to the devaluation of the Taka against the US dollar, this price had to be adjusted.
The energy Division said diesel is currently selling at Tk. 90.76 per liter or BDT 125.70 per liter and petrol at Tk. 103.94 per liter or BDT 143.96 per liter in Kolkata, India, which is about more Tk. 17.95 per liter and 16.96 rupees from Bangladesh, the Energy Division said.
