Chairman of National Board of Revenue Mosharraf Hossain Bhuyia informed that the revenue collection will cross the all past records in ‘Mujib Year’. He said that we will dedicate that record in the name of Bangabandhu.
In his address as the chief guest, the NBR Chairman told this in a meeting of National Mourning and Doa Mahfil organized by BCS (Taxation) and BCS (Customs & VAT) at IDEB Bhavan on Wednesday (August 28).
The chairman said in the ‘Mujib Year’ to be observed in next year we have taken an organized preparation on behalf of NBR. The resource persons and the researchers on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be invited in the training sessions of BCS Taxation and BCS Customs & VAT officials to impart knowledge among them about the Father of the Nation. Essay competitions and discussions will be held regularly. Besides, we show our respect by doing work.
Remembering Bangabandhu, Moshasarraf Hossain said that the long void caused by the absence of Bangabandhu has been filled up. The people of this country will remember Bangabandhu so long this country would survive. We should work in revenue collection with sincerity to materialize his ideals and serve the people.
Quoting Bangabandhu Mosharraf Hossain said that ‘we owe to the people because we get salary from their taxes so we must not do any unjust to them. If we follow this saying of Bangabandhu, then he will be remembered properly.’
The NBR chairman said Sheikh Hasina has surpassed his father for attaining many remarkable achievements. She came to power for four times. During this time the country has received good governance, development and success in International politics. She has been working to build the ‘Sonar Bangla’ of Bangabandhu. She possessed all the qualities of his great father. She knows how to develop the country and in what way.
The meeting was chaired by the president of BCS (Taxation) association Selim Afzal . It was also addressed by NBR member (Grade 1) Kalipada Halder and Sultan Iqbal.
Special prayer was offered for the salvation of the departed soulsof Bangabnadhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family.
