Finance Minister AHM Mostofa Kamal has indicated that in 2020 Bangladesh’s per capita income will be equal to India’s per capita.
On Wednesday (Sept.04) he informed the journalists after the 15th meeting of the cabinet committee of economic affairs.
He told that Indian journal ‘The Business Standard’ wrote that Bangladesh’s per capita income will be equivalent to India.
The Finance Minister said that the strength of economy of a country depends on how much it fluctuates in comparison to international currency. In that place we are in a sound position. We have no investment in the capital market, FDI is minimum and moreover the amount of money in the government exchequer is also minimum. Besides, our export volume is also of medium size. However, we are better positioned than India.
During last ten years our economy did not move behind for a single miniute. The money inflation is within our control. Our budget size is very big. All money is being in the hand of the government. However we are to give attention to the fact that where we are standing. Now we are above all in GDP growth. There is noting to deny it. Our GDP size has increased it never goes down in any time.
