Zayed Khan's candidature has been canceled as the allegation of buying votes paying money in the election of Shilpi Samiti has been proved. As a result, actress Nipun has been elected for this post without any contest.
Earlier, Nipun had told in the press conference and appealed to the ministry to cancel the nomination of Zayed Khan, alleging various irregularities including buying votes by money. In view of this, the Appellate Board, on the special instructions of the Ministry of Social Welfare, requested the plaintiff-defendant to be present at the FDC at 4 pm on Saturday (February 5). However, the plaintiff was present from 4 pm but the defendant Zayed Khan was absent.
After waiting for another 30 minutes, Sohanur Rahman Sohan, who is in charge of the Appellate Board, sat down with Nipun to discuss. Afterwards, Sohan announced the verdict in front of the journalists after checking the veracity of all the allegations made by Nipun against Zayed Khan.
Announcing the verdict, he said, "Chief Election Commissioner Peerzada Harun has counted the votes and announced the result even after the stipulated time. Although the results were announced at 5:30 am on the 29th, the date of announcement of the results was mentioned in the papers on 28th January. This is a clear deviation from the rules. He also did not take any immediate action after receiving several verbal allegations of buying votes for money during the election. He had behaved in a biased manner. Two voters have admitted in writing that they received money from Zayed Khan in the Appellate Board's query process. Multiple voters also said verbally.
After scrutinizing everything, the candidatures of General Secretary Zayed Khan and Member Chunnu have been canceled due to violation of election rules. So the nearest rival was declared elected to this posts. ”
As a result of this announcement, film actor Nadir Khan was elected as an executive member.
Although Zayed Khan had earlier told the media that his candidature had been cancelled, the Appellate Board was no longer functional as the election was over. As a result, he does not feel the need to appear in this process of the Appellate Board. He will face court if necessary. Speaking at a press conference after the verdict was announced, Sohan said, "We have taken this step on the instructions of the government in the situation that has arisen. We don't care what Zayed Khan says or does not say. ”
Earlier, the much-discussed election was held on January 28. Ilyas Kanchan was elected president after defeating Misha Saudagar. On the other hand, after losing to Zayed Khan, Nipun appealed to the Appellate Board for immediate recount of votes. Even if the result remains the same, she presented some evidence in front of the media to buy votes and influence the election by holding a press conference against Zayed Khan.
However, Zayed Khan said that these are 'super edited'. He also said that he would file a case against Nipun under the Digital Security Act for defaming him at the press conference.
