Sharmila Tagore needs no re-introduction. Movie buffs are fans of this girl with big eyes and a big smile. Even today, the excitement hasn't decreased at all. Still gets calls for youth shows like Koffee With Karan. OTT, the latest medium of entertainment, has recently enthralled the audience with movies like 'Gulmohar'. She is still getting huge applause after beating the acting battle of knee- aged heroines.

The legendary Sharmila Tagore is now in Dhaka. Descendant of Rabindranath, bride of Pataudi Nawab's family - all in all the well-known classy Sharmila was caught today in the auditorium of Shahbagh Museum.

She maintained her class in an off- white saree. She is the inaugurator of the event, I want a little glamour. So she kept some lace work on the saree. In order not to overcome the cold, she wrapped a thin pashmina shawl gently around her body.

Sharmila came to inaugurate the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival and spoke in English. According to her, it is an international festival and English is the international language. So she chose English to facilitate everyone's understanding. However, at the request of the festival organizer Ahmed Mujtaba Jamal, she also spoke Bengali.

In Sharmila's words, 'I am a Bengali; everyone knows that I can speak Bengali. So I will not speak Bengali today.

Sharmila also said, 'I am very happy to finally come to such a beautiful event. I was actually supposed to come a day earlier. But the flight was canceled due to extreme cold in Mumbai. I thought I would not come on this trip again. But the organizers got it right. I was brought in a special two-seater Bangladesh Airlines flight. It was an adventure of sorts. It feels great to come.'

After watching the dance performance of Shilpakala Academy artists at the beginning of the opening ceremony, Sharmila said, "I liked the dance very much." A journey from the beginning to the end of a Bangladeshi film is shown through dance. I came to know that the film journey started in this country in 1957. And my film journey started with "Apur Sansar". That too around the same time. That means my film life and Bangladesh are of the same age. It was very nice to hear the songs from the old Bangladeshi movies. What a sweet song!'

Finally, Sharmila said, she did not just come to inaugurate this event. I will return home only after the judgment of the Asian film department. In other words, she has to stay in Dhaka for more than a week to do this work.
