‘Hasina–A daughters Tale’ in the Lit Fest

Evening was coming down. The literary lovers were being touched by drizzling outside. The wait of all ended when a documentary film was projected on the screen on the life of a successful personality – ‘Hasina – a daughters’ tale’

The audience ignoring the rain started entering the hall one by one and keenly became an ardent viewer.

On the second day of the three day Dhaka Lit Fest the documentary film ‘Hasina – a daughter’ tale’ based on the life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was displyed in the Abdul Karim Shahittya Bisharad hall.  

In the docu film many incidents of the life of Sheikh Hasina, her struggle have been projected. It also contains the success stories of her life. 

In the beginning of the film it was seen that Sheikh Hasina is busy in cooking food, inviting the technicians of the makers of the film for taking food. Next she started to memorize her career along with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana. Two sisters also highlighted the stories of the life of their father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Gradually they began the stories of tough days. The stories of their fathers’ imprisonment, struggle against autocrat Ershad, grenade attack, and lastly the story of losing the whole family in the hands of the killers in 1975. It also contains the story of struggling life of the two sisters.  

In this way one hour passed. None of audience could feel that how avidly they saw and heard the documentary.  After the show the producer of the CRI documentary film Redwan Mujib Siddiky (Boby), son of Sheikh Rehana and also grand son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, director Piplu Khan and music director Devjoyti Misra talked on the documentary film.  

They spoke elaborately on the film. All three said that they have gathered new experience in film and also learnt many unknown stories about the Bangabandhu family.

The documentary film was directed by Piplu Khan in 2018. The film was jointly produced by Center for Research and Information and Apple Box Film Center. Earlier the Dhaka Lit Fest was inaugurated by State Minister Cultural Affairs KM Khalid on Thursday (Nov.7) at the premises of Bangla Academy. About one hundred foreign and one hundred local cultural personalities, litterateurs, researchers, journalists and politicians are attending the fest.
