Former Vice President Joe Biden as a Democratic candidate has been elected 46th president of the United States. US media reports say Joe Biden has been elected President of the United States after defeating the incumbent President Donald Trump.

Out of 538 votes cast in the Electoral College for the presidency of the United States, only 270 were required as elected. According to CNN, the latest results show that Joe Biden won 273 electoral votes. And Trump got 214 votes. After a long wait for the vote, he reached the doorsteps of 270 Electoral College votes.

Meanwhile, US media said that Republican candidate Donald Trump has decided to go to the Supreme Court by rejecting the election results.

In a video message on April 25, 2019, Biden hinted at a fight in the party's primary in the 2020 presidential election. In the party primary, he confirmed the Democratic nomination, leaving behind California Senator Kamala Harris (who is his current running mate), Vermont senator Liberal Bernie Sanders, Massachusetts' Elizabeth Warren, Petty Butegig and Amy Klubacher. Joe Biden was leading the White House race ahead of the polls.

But it depended on the outcome of the vote in the states known as the Battle Grounds. In the end, there was a fierce battle between the two candidates. Winning in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin required Joe Biden to win the election. He won in all the three states. And last but not least, his hometown of Pennsylvania received 20 electoral votes for Joe Biden's ticket to the White House.

Trump's current term expires on January 20, when the winner of the 2020 election, Joe Biden, will be sworn in and will be president as soon as he is sworn in.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has won in several important states. Trump won in Florida, South Carolina, Utah, Ohio, Alabama and West Virginia. He still failed to retain power for the second term. Criticized for his controversial remarks about coronavirus, immigrants, Muslims and women, Trump did not get a ticket to the White House for the second time in a row.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, bet on a 50-year political career. Biden was a senator from Delaware for 35 years. In 2008, Barack Obama made him vice president.

The race was rife between Democratic candidate Joe Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump. But in the end, Joe Biden is the 46th president of the United States.

Biden was born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Scranton, Newcastle County and Delaware. He is the eldest of four siblings.
