Although the incident happened recently, the experience is not at all new in the history of world politics. Like many politicians in the past, Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi is paying heavily for her army's loyalty. She is facing not only detention, but also trial at the behest of the army, Suu Kyi, once a leader of democracy and an army ally.

Myanmar's police have filed a lawsuit against ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi, according to the latest reports. She has been accused of violating import-export laws. At the same time, the police have also requested to continue her detention till February 15. The news agency Reuters quoted the country's police documents.

She was brought to justice just forty-eight hours after her arrest on February 1. Instead of a movement to restore power and democracy in her last years, she has to engage in the ordeal of saving her life and political career.

Twelve years of her political career she had already played through the unconditional loyalty of the country's army. Instead of pure democracy, she compromised with the army and shared power. She stood up against the whole world and unconditionally supported the genocide and barbarism of the army against the Rohingyas.

Even after doing so much, she was not saved. She could not sit in power even after winning the election. Instead, she was taken prisoner and facing trial. She has fallen into a deep abyss of mountain-like popularity, from which it does not seem at all possible for her to regain her heart.

The fact that the army has never been a friend of politicians proved once again that the events in Myanmar and Suu Kyi's tragic consequences. In the past, political leaders who have been loyal to the army in various countries have been thrown out at the end of their work. Suu Kyi has become a victim of such misfortune.

Undoubtedly, the army's seizure of power and its aftermath is very sad. But this has happened again and again in history. Not only military rule in Myanmar, the Suu Kyi era has also come to an end. Soon the army will bring in a new leader of its choice and the game of reviving democracy will begin with him at the center. Sadly Suu Kyi will turn into a void and unnecessary existence.
