The global pandemic of coronavirus in India is breaking records every day. The procession of death is getting longer and longer. In such a situation, the country has planned to increase the production of corona vaccine. The central government of India has announced assistance of Rs. 4,500 crore to increase vaccine production.

However, in an interview with Indian media outlet NDTV on Wednesday (April 21), Serum's chief executive Adar Punawala said they had taken a loan from a bank without waiting for government help.

Late last month, the Indian government suspended the export of corona vaccine outside the country. Although various countries and organizations have reacted angrily, it is not possible to export the vaccine before June-July, said Adar Punawala.

He said that at the moment they are giving priority to the needs of the nation. So there is no guarantee of vaccine export. We should not look at exports at this time of transition. Maybe in June-July we can start exporting a small amount of vaccines again.

He said the Serum Institute would have the capacity to produce 10 crore doses of vaccine per month by July. Serum currently produces six to seven million doses of vaccine per month.

The CEO of Seram said the vaccine they invented costs Rs. 400 for the state government and Rs. 600 for a private hospital.

India is the second most affected country in the world. The number of patients diagnosed with corona in India is 1 crore 57 lakh 31 thousand 57 people. 1 lakh 83 thousand 88 people have died in Corona in the country.
