Citizens of several other countries, including Bangladesh, have been barred from entering Oman to prevent coronavirus infection.

This was revealed in a report by Gulf News on Wednesday (April 21).

According to the report, from the evening of April 24 (Saturday), the entry of travelers from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh has been banned indefinitely.

As a result, Bangladeshi expatriates will not be able to enter Oman until further notice.

The decision was taken by the Supreme Committee, led by Interior Minister Hammoud bin Faisal al-Busaidi, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

There will be exceptions for Oman citizens, diplomats, health workers and their families.

The country's health ministry said on Wednesday (April 21) that 18 person have died and 108 have been newly infected in Corona in the past 24 hours.

Among other Covid-19 precautionary measures issued Wednesday, the committee banned children under the age of 12 from entering shops and commercial establishments due to the sudden rise of infection in the country.

The country's shops, restaurants and cafes have also been instructed to allow 50 per cent of their capacity to be entered, and legal action will be taken against them if they do not comply.
