Fourth wave of Corona hits Germany with full force: Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has described the current state of coronavirus infection as "dramatic". To address the situation, those who have not yet been vaccinated are urged to be vaccinated.

At the same time, those who have received two doses of the vaccine are instructed to take a booster dose. Merkel made the remarks during a virtual speech at a meeting of the German Congress around 12 noon local time on Wednesday (November 17).

Angela Merkel said the fourth wave of the Corona struck Germany with full force. The way the daily infection was growing was beyond our imagination. The daily death toll is alarming.

The German chancellor said, those who have not been vaccinated should get rid of their doubts and get vaccinated quickly because the person who gets vaccinated will protect himself as well as others. Everyone needs to be vaccinated to reduce the death toll in Corona.

She said, national efforts are being made to implement corona booster dose. Studies have shown that the amount of antibodies decreases within six months of receiving the second dose of corona vaccine. As a result, a booster dose is urgent.

In the last 24 hours, 52,826 corona patients have been identified in Germany, according to the BBC. In Germany, 51 lakh 8 thousand 904 corona patients have been identified so far. 98,660 people have died in Corona in the country.

Germany is the first country to discover a vaccine against the coronavirus. More people are vaccinated in Germany than in any other country in the world. Although the country has been able to vaccinate most citizens against the corona, experts have said the fourth wave of corona has hit hard there.
