Israeli troops have begun to leave the refugee camp in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin after a massive two-day operation. 12 Palestinians were killed in this military operation and hundreds of thousands of residents fled.

The British media BBC reported this information in a report on Wednesday (July 5). However, gunfire and explosions are still heard throughout Jenin.

Health officials said one Palestinian was shot dead and three others were reportedly wounded in the airstrikes. Earlier, Palestinian armed groups said Israel had carried out carjacking and stabbing attacks on people in response to a military operation in the Jenin refugee camp.

An Israeli soldier was killed when the camp opened fire on Tuesday evening, the country's army said. Seven people were wounded in an attack on a busy street in Tel Aviv, Israeli authorities said, and the attacker was a Palestinian from the West Bank.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "If anyone thinks that such an attack will stop us from continuing our fight against terrorism, they are mistaken."

He confirmed that Israeli forces were "completing the mission" in Jenin. But he also cautioned that such a campaign would not be a "one-time move".

However, Palestinian leaders have accused Israel of attacking them.
