President Arif Alvi dissolved Pakistan's parliament three days before the end of its term.

On the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the President announced the dissolution of Parliament at midnight on Wednesday (August 9). This information is learnt from a report of Pakistan-based media Dawn.

President's Office Aiwan-e-Sadar has issued an instruction in this regard. It has been said that the Parliament has been dissolved as per Article 58 of the Constitution.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday (August 9) sent a letter to President Alvi to dissolve Parliament. The tenure of the Shehbaz Sharif government was supposed to end on August 12. He decided to resign three days before this.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Murtaza Javed Abbasi said in a statement that the elected government has completed its five-year term and his ministry has sent a summary to the prime minister to dissolve the assembly under Article 58 of the Constitution.

A brief request was made for the formation of an interim government under Article 224 of the Constitution.

A notification by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will be issued after the formation of caretaker government and summary approval, the statement said.

Shehbaz Sharif became the Prime Minister after ousting former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a vote of no confidence in April last year. After that his government was plagued with various problems. Besides, Shehbaz Sharif's government was also busy suppressing Imran who lost the prime minister ship.
