The death toll from an attack by masked gunmen at a concert hall near Moscow has risen to 143. More than 140 were injured. Among them, 11 people including four suspected gunmen have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Reuters reports.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack on Friday (March 22). But there have been indications that Ukraine has collusion with the attackers. However, Ukrainian officials have strongly denied the allegations.

The attack took place at Crocus City Hall in Moscow on Friday (March 22) evening. At that time, the gunmen entered the concert hall and fired indiscriminately into the crowd with automatic rifles.

According to the British media BBC, 11 people have been detained as suspects in the incident. Four of them are directly involved.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared national mourning in Russia on Sunday.

Putin said 11 people, including four gunmen, were detained. The detainees tried to hide and were preparing to cross the border into Ukraine.

Putin said, "I am talking to you today about the bloody, barbaric terrorist attack that killed hundreds of innocent, peace-loving people."

Russia's FSB security service said the attackers were "connected" to their own people in Ukraine before trying to flee the country. They were caught near the border. Now the detainees are being transferred to Moscow.

According to the report, Russia's central security agency FSB has detained 11 people in this incident. The agency informed Russian President Vladimir Putin. Four of them were directly involved in the attack. Efforts are on to nab other suspects.
