Narendra Modi wishes Dr. Yunus

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Nobel Peace Prize winning economist Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus for becoming the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh.

He expressed this greeting in a post on social media 'X' on Thursday (August 8).

Before this at 9:20 PM 13 advisers of the interim government including Dr. Muhammad Yunus were administered oath at Bangabhavan by President Md. Sahabuddin.

Modi also expressed hope for a speedy return to normalcy in Bangladesh and called for safety and security of Hindus and other minority communities.

Soon after, Modi wrote, "My best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus on his new assignment. We hope for a speedy return to normalcy ensuring the safety and security of Hindus and all other minority communities. India is committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the common aspirations of the people of both our countries for peace, security and development.
