NDA alliance wins big in Maharashtra, India alliance retains Jharkhand

The results of the assembly elections in two Indian states have become clear. In Maharashtra, the BJP-led alliance has won by a huge margin. In Jharkhand, however, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress alliance are returning to power again.

Before this year's elections in Jharkhand, Indian Prime Minister Modi had complained about Bangladesh, saying that the current government of Jharkhand has made arrangements for illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh to stay, giving them all the facilities. Due to this, the tribals of Jharkhand are being deprived. Development work there is being hampered. Even a few days before the elections, the party released a false and propaganda video denigrating Bangladeshis.

After the party's huge victory in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on his X handle in the evening, "Development has won, good governance has won, united we will reach greater heights. I sincerely thank the brothers and sisters of Maharashtra, especially the youth and women of the state, who have given a historic mandate to the NDA."

Again, regarding the defeat in Jharkhand, Modi said, "I thank the people of Jharkhand for standing by us. We will always come forward to raise public issues and work for the state. I congratulate the JMM-led alliance for good results in the state." Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren told the media after the Prime Minister's congratulations, "I have heard that Prime Minister Narendra Modiji has congratulated us. I would like to thank him."
