The JN Roy Hospital authorities in Maniktala area of North Kolkata, West Bengal, India have decided not to treat Bangladeshi patients over allegations of insulting the Indian flag.

On Friday (November 29), an official of JN Roy Hospital said that they have taken this decision in protest against the insulting behavior towards the Indian flag and the alleged torture of minority Hindus in neighboring Bangladesh.

According to a report by the Indian media outlet The Economic Times, renowned gynecologist Indranil Saha stopped seeing Bangladeshi patients in protest against the insulting of the Indian national flag in Bangladesh. Following his example, JN Roy Hospital in Maniktala, Kolkata has stopped admitting Bangladeshi patients. They have made it clear that there is nothing above the country. Therefore, all types of treatment for Bangladeshi patients at JN Roy Hospital will be stopped for the time being.

Earlier, Doctor Indranil Saha posted a picture on social media and wrote, Indian national flag spread at the entrance of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET)! I am stopping seeing Bangladeshi patients in the chamber for the time being. Country first, income later. I hope that other doctors will do the same until the relationship normalizes.

On Friday afternoon, while facing journalists outside the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, the state BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Shuvendu Adhikari, made the same demand. He said, I bow to Dr. Indranil Saha. He said, my country comes first, income comes second. The Indian flag has been trampled. I will not treat Bangladeshi patients.

At this time, Shuvendu Adhikari appealed to Indians and said, I will request the entire Indian medical community, businessmen and India-lovers to completely boycott Bangladeshis. If the Maulana of Bangladesh can say, do not cut your hair and beard from Hindu barbers, do not buy sweets from Hindu shops, I also want to tell the India-lovers from here that the time has come to give a stern answer.
