Bangladesh’s proposal on Universal Health Service accepted in IPU

Bangladesh’s proposal on Universal Health Services has been accepted in the 141st session of Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) held at the Serbian capital Belgrade.

It is learnt from a press release following a message received in Dhaka today from Belgrade on the going current session of IPU.  In the press release it has been told that the chairman of the Health affairs sub-committee of IPU Professor Dr. Habib –e- Millat MP raised the proposal on universal health services titled ‘Achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030: the role of Parliaments in ensuring the right of health.’

On Wednesday (Oct.16) the democracy and human rights committee forwarded the proposal to the governing council. The proposal was acclaimed in the committee and on the last day (Thursday, Oct.17) the proposal was accepted unanimously. Through the implementation of the resolution the health of all irrespective of rich and poor, health services can be ensured according to the capability of the individuals.
