Construction of a railway line between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Afghanistan is underway. By next March, the two countries will be connected by railway communication.
Iran's Deputy Minister of Transport Abbas Khateeb said in an interview to Pars today that construction of the 191 kilometer rail line from the eastern city of Kahf to the city of Herat in Afghanistan is nearing completion. When the work is completed, the rail between Iran and Afghanistan will begin.
