The entire West Bengal including Kolkata in India has been brought under lockdown measure.
Indian media reported Sunday (March 22) that in lockdown the only essential products will be available. The lockdown will continue until March 31.
The lockdown has been decided from Sunday afternoon on the advice of the Chief Secretaries with the Center. A lockdown has been announced in seventy five districts across India. The administration advised not to be intimidated by the lockdown.
Ordinary people will get essential services of petroleum products like diesel, kerosene, foodstuff, drugstore, pathology labs. Ambulances, hospitals, medical facilities are outside the lockdown.
Earlier, it was informed on Sunday noon rail services will be suspended and even the Metro would not run. This shut down will be enforced from midnight of Sunday (March 22).
