US approves malaria drug treatment for corona

The US has approved the use of two drugs for emergency treatment for corona patients. These drugs are used in the treatment of malaria. The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said some reports suggest that these drugs may relieve Covid-I9 patients in some cases.

However, if a hospital wants to use those two drugs, it should have to be supplied by the government store. The drug companies Bayar and Novartis gave the drug to the US government as grant.

Novartis CEO Vas Norsiman said on Sunday(March 29) they are optimistic about their hydroxychloroquine in the fight against the coranavirus. Novartis has promised to assist the United States in a clinical trial, in addition to providing 13 crore doses of hydroxychloroquine as grant. According to a CNN report, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the country's licensing body, approved the use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine on Monday (March 30).
They also said President Donald Trump thinks the two drugs have the potential to bring about radical change in the treatment of the virus.

It may be mentioned here that the Bangladesh Drug Administration has also procured hydroxycloroquine from local drug manufacturer Incepta Company on. According to the sources of Drug Administration, the anti-malarial drug will be supplied to the government hospitals soon.
