The global pandemic affected cases of Covid -19 are approaching 54 lakh. The death toll from the pandemic has surpassed 3, 43,500.
According to Johns Hopkins University on Sunday (May 24) morning, 343,500 people died of coronavirus in different parts of the world. At this time the number of victims stood at 53 lakh 98 thousand 305 people. Already 22 lakh 36 thousand 162 people have returned home after recovery from the deadly virus.
The United States has the highest death toll from corona in the world at 98,661. The number of infected people in the country is also the highest in the world, 16 lakh 66 thousand 225 people.
The United Kingdom is second only to the United States in the death toll. So far 36,665 people have died from the virus in the country. 2 lakh 57 thousand 154 people have been infected.
Brazil is in second place with regard to number of infected. So far 3 lakh 42 thousand 410 people have been infected in the country while 21 thousand 943 people died.
Italy is next to the United Kingdom in terms of deaths in the corona. The virus has so far killed 32,835 people in the country. The number of infected is 2 lakh 29 thousand 327 people. In Spain, the fourth deaths occurred in the country where corona claimed 28,678 lives and 2, 82,370 were infected.
The first case of coronavirus was diagnosed in Bangladesh on March 8 and the first death occurred on March 18. As of 5:15 a.m. on Sunday (May 24), the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country was 32,078 and the number of deaths was 452.
