Public life has returned to normalcy in Italy which had been worst hit by the ongoing global corona pandemic. The lockdown has been gradually relaxed as the incidences of corona declining. Businesses have been launched. This time, after three long months, the Pisa Tower, a heritage structure of interest in Italy is being opened for tourists.

However, some rules have been issued for tourists. The Leaning Tower cannot accommodate more than 15 visitors at a time. Everyone must wear a mask and have an electronic device to monitor the distance from one person to another. The signal will go to the authorities as soon as someone goes to another person less than 1 meter away.

History of the Traditional Pisa Tower:

Pisa is one of the most famous ancient cities in Italy. It is located in the Tuscany region of Italy. The world-famous scientist Galileo was born on February 15, 1584 in the city of Pisa. That ancient city has a leaning tower. In Italian language it is called Torre di Pisa or Torre Pendente di Pisa. The minaret is the third oldest structure in the Cathedral Square in the city of Pisa.

The city of Pisa was named in the 600 BC. And this tower is called the Tower of Pisa as one of the most important landmarks of the city of Pisa. However, as a result of tilting to one side day by day, it became known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The eight-storey minaret is about 56 meters high and weighs about 14,500 metric tons. It is currently tilted at an angle of about 3.99 degrees. It has 294 stairs.

There has been some controversy over who designed the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is thought to have been designed by Bonano Pisano, Gerardo di Gerardo, Giovanni Pisano and Giovanni di Simone. Its construction was overseen by engineer Tomaso Pisano.

The work started in 1163 A.D. and ended in 1382 A.D. From the very beginning of construction, the structure began to tilt.
From 1999 to 2001, some work was done to prevent its continuous tilting and is being maintained regularly. The idea of engineers is that the tower will not tilt for another 200 years.

Pisa, built almost a few centuries ago by faulty construction techniques, has made this tower much more attractive. Anyone can see the beautifully sloping shape of the various paintings and works of art painted by the artists at the Pisa Tower.

Every year, on the occasion of the traditional Centennial Illumination Festival, the Pisa Tower is decorated with beautiful and eye-catching lighting. About 50 lakh tourists from all over the world flock to Pisa to enjoy the beauty of this sloping structure
