Only 10 thousand pilgrims to be allowed to perform Hajj this year

Due to the coronavirus situation, only those living in Saudi Arabia will be able to perform Hajj this year. It was perceived that as in previous years, at least a few lakhs Saudi and foreign nationals would have the opportunity to perform the Hajj. But no; the country's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that a maximum of ten thousand people living in Saudi Arabia will have the opportunity to perform Hajj.

On Tuesday (June 23), the country's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the opportunity to perform the Hajj on a number of conditions.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has set a number of conditions for those who wish to perform in this year's Hajj. These conditions are-
No one will be allowed to come from abroad for Hajj this year. No one over the age of 65 will be allowed to perform Hajj. No one with chronic illness can perform Hajj. Intending Hajj pilgrim will be allowed after health examination. Physical distance must be maintained during Hajj. Health check-ups will be done every day and isolation will be observed at the end of Hajj.

On Monday (June 22), Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that according to 1441 Hijri (2020 A.D) international pilgrims from abroad will not be allowed to perform Hajj.

Citizens of Saudi Arabia or expatriates living in a limited number of countries will have the opportunity to perform Hajj in accordance with the rules of health.

The decision was made due to the threat of an ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The formality of Hajj will start from July 28, subject to the sighting of the moon in the month of Jilhaj.

In 2019, 24 lakh 89 thousand 406 people performed Hajj. Among them, 2 lakh 11 thousand 3 citizens of Saudi Arabia and 4 lakh 23 thousand 37 citizens of different countries working in Saudi Arabia have performed Hajj.
