India developed corona vaccine to be launched on August 15

It has been decided to market the country's first Covid-19 vaccine on August 15, India's Independence Day. This vaccine has been branded as Covaccin.

The Indian Council of Medical Research plans to launch the vaccine on August 15 for the general people, Indian media reported on Friday (July 3).

Dozens of institutes have been nominated for clinical trials of the vaccine, which is made entirely of indigenous technology, the government's top medical research body said.

The vaccine is being developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research in collaboration with Biotech International of India. These institutes have been asked to prepare for ICMR clinical trials. The central government is looking at this issue as a priority project.

The Indian Council of Medical Research has directed that clinical trials be begin this week. The success of this vaccine will depend on the clinical trial. It also warned that failure to co-operate with any institute would be considered a serious offense.

The letter to the institutes asked the institutes selected for the clinical trial to do this work with utmost importance within the specified timeline. The strain of the SARS-COV-2 virus was collected for vaccination from the National Institute of Virology, Pune under ICMR. ICMR has done and continues to do everything in collaboration with the BBIL before the start of the clinical trial of Ticker.

Vaccine trials have been scheduled in Visakhapatnam, Rohtak, New Delhi, Patna, Belgaum (Karnataka), Nagpur, Gorakhpur, Kattankulathur (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad, Arya Nagar, Goa and Kanpur.
