Italy's health minister, Roberto Spranza, has warned of a possible influx of people from the Shenzhen area and outside the European Union (EU). He also said that people infected with corona from Bangladesh entered Italy and the infection is increasing there again.

Roberto Spranza wrote letters to European Health and Food Safety Commissioner Stella Kiriakids and German Health Minister Jens Spahan.

In the letter, he highlighted a major coordination, saying a coordination was needed between all to prevent the spread of Covid-19 from outside the region.

Highlighting his country's position, he said the outbreaks over the past two weeks have come from outside the country.

The Italian news agency Ansa reported on Thursday (July 9) that the health minister had also raised the issue of the arrival of Bangladeshis.

He said a chartered flight from Bangladesh on Tuesday brought 274 passengers. Of these, 38 corona positive were found. In addition, the results of 160 people have not been found yet.

‘Based on these results, I have spoken to Foreign Minister Di Mayo and decided to suspend all flights from Bangladesh for the next one week,’ he said.

Meanwhile, ASA Roma-2 Health Authority and Anti-Covid Crisis Unit have informed the Bangladesh community in Rome. The community has been asked to disseminate the information through internal communication systems and social media.

In addition, Bangladeshis who have entered the city of Lazio since June 1, and those who have come in contact with them, have been asked to test for coronavirus.
