Seventeen die and bodies of two are still missing in an engine-boat capsize in Netrokona haor on Wednesday (August 5).
According to OC of Madan p.s. 48 Madrasha students of Mymenshing Sadar upazilla were on a pleasure trip in the Netrokona haor. Suddenly the boat turned turtle and capsized due to strong wind.
OC said, the boat capsized with all the passengers on board.
Of the 48, 29 swam to the shore while 19 failed. Later 17 bodies were recovered. Rescue operation is still on to find out the two, OC said.
Of the recovered, two bodies were identified as Lubna Aktar,10 and Julfa Aktar, 7 daughters of Waresuddin of Mymenshing.
