Court grants remand of three accused in ex-Major Sinha murder case

Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Cox’s bazaar has granted 7 days remand of the three accused including the encounter happy Officer in Charge(OC) of Teknaf police station Pradip Kumar Das in the ex-Major Sinha Rashed Khan murder case. However, the investigating agency of the case sought 10 days remand.

Earlier the court granted ordered the interrogation of the other four accused at jail gate. The court also issued arrest warrant of the rest two who did not surrender. The accused were sent to Jail.

It may be mentioned here that ex- Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the Shamlapur police check post on Teknaf Marine Drive Road in Cox's Bazar on the night of July 31. Sharmin Shahriya Ferdous the elder sister of the deceased, filed the case in the Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court on Wednesday August 5). Judge Tamanna Farah accepted the case. She directed the OC of Teknaf police station to file the Ejahar as a case and inform the court within seven days. Besides, the RAB-15 Cox's Bazaar camp commander has been given the responsibility to investigate the case and inform the court.
