Court grants 7 day remand to suspended OC Pradip and SI Liaqut

The court has granted seven-day remand to seven accused in the murder case of Retired Major Sinha Rashed Khan, including OC Pradeep of Teknaf Police Station and Inspector Liaquat Ali in-charge of Baharchhara Investigation Center.

The seven accused remanded along with four policemen are Sub-Inspector (SI) Liton, Constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain and Abdullah Al Mamun and three witnesses in the Sinha murder case are Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Mohammad Iyas of Marishbunia in Baharchhara, Teknaf.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah granted the remand on Wednesday (August 12).

Earlier, RAB applied for their 10-day remand yesterday. The court set Wednesday (August 12) for the remand hearing.

The investigating agency RAB arrested three witnesses in the case yesterday morning on suspicion of being involved in the incident. They were later produced in the Cox's Bazaar District Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court.

It is to be mentioned here that Major (Retd.) Sinha Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at a check post in Shamlapur area of Baharchhara Union on Cox's Bazaar-Teknaf Marine Drive on the night of July 31.
