Jashore: Superintendent (Assistant Director) Abdullah Al Masud has been suspended.
The action was taken in a letter signed by Social Welfare Ministry Secretary Mohammad Zainul Bari on Friday (August 14) alleging negligence in the killing incident of three inmates at the Center and injuring 15 others.
On the other hand, an office order signed by Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare Mahmuda Yasmin said that a three-member inquiry committee has been formed. The committee has been headed by Jashore Additional District Magistrate.
Besides, the member secretary is the deputy director of the social services department in Jashore and a representative of the member district police super, who is not below the rank of ASP. The committee has been asked to submit an investigation report within the next five working days.
Earlier, the Department of Social Services formed a two-member enquiry committee and had issued a notification. The committee was headed by Syed Mohammad Nurul Basir, director (institution) of the social services department. Deputy Director (Institution-II) SM Mahmudullah will assist him in the investigation. The committee has been directed to submit the enquiry report to the Director General within the next three working days.
