Due to the coronavirus situation, the environment has not yet been conducive for the opening of educational institutions, said education minister Dr. Dipu Moni.

She was speaking at the National Mourning Day function at the International Mother Language Institute on Thursday (August 20) afternoon. National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Harun-ur-Rashid presented the keynote paper titled 'Bangabandhu: a great soul without death in human history'.

Regarding taking HSC exam, the education minister said, 'You know it is not possible to take HSC exam in this corona situation of the country. You are all aware of this situation. There are about 14 lakh HSC candidates. We were ready to take the exam, still we are ready. A few lakh people more involved with 14 lakh examinees. We can't put so many people at risk. "

She said, 'If when favorable environment is created, the exam will be taken within 15 days so that the examinees can also prepare within short notice.’

Dr. Dipu Moni said, the murder of August 15 is the cruelest killing of history. Such killings are rare in the history of the human race. Those involved in the murder of the Father of the Nation must be brought to justice in Bengal. The verdict of some of the self-confessed murderers of Bangabandhu has already been executed. The process of bringing those who are still fugitives or have taken refuge abroad and bringing them back to the country is continuing according to the law.

Vice Chancellor of the National University said in his key note paper, 'Bangladesh would not have been independent if Bangabandhu was not born. Even today we could have been enslaved. According to the blueprint of the conspiracy of the special forces defeated in the anti-independence and great liberation war on August 15, 1975, a group of assassins and murderers not only killed the President of the state, but also the Father of our Nation and the architect of independent Bangladesh. The aim of the assassins was to bring back the country in Pakistani military, civilian and communal order by permanently erasing the foundation of Bangladesh based on the spirit and ideology of the war of liberation. Therefore, this murder was against the state of Bangladesh. That is why the killers are traitors and enemies of humanity.

He said the events of August 15 proved conclusively that General Zia and Khandoker Mushtaq were directly involved in the killings. But there is no doubt that many more were involved in this brutal murder. In order to uphold the rule of law and human rights and to present accurate information to future generations, it is time to form a commission of inquiry and bring those concerned under the law. Those who have already died must also be posthumously tried by amending / changing existing laws if necessary.

Secretary of the Division of Secondary and Higher Education Mahbub Hossain delivered the address of welcome. There were two speakers in the meeting. Deputy minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury MP and retired senior secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury. At the end of the meeting Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education division Aminul Islam Khan gave vote of thanks.
