Six including DC of Madaripur sued in the court

Madaripur Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rahima Khatun along with five others have been sued in the court allegedly on the ground of burning four dredgers used in filling soil and damaging eight other machines.

Two cases were filed in the Madaripur Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (September 1) at noon. Monir Sardar of Diarchar village in Shibchar upazila and Sarwar Bepari of Parikandi Sadullabe village filed two cases as plaintiffs.

Madaripur Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rahima Khatun, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zakir Hossain Bachchu, Shibchar Assistant Commissioner (Land) M. Rakibul Hasan, Union Land Assistant Officer Yusuf Hossain, Surveyor Russel Hossain and MLSS Babul Mia were sued in two separate cases in the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court.

According to the case statement, the plaintiffs had started work with four dredgers to fill the soil of the local Chowdhury Anish Uddin Waqf Estate to run the contracting business. On August 28, at around 1 pm, the accused persons went to the Waqf Estate land and set fire to four dredgers and vandalized eight more machines. This has caused them a loss of lakhs of Taka.

Judge Mohammad Hossain of the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court accepted the case and after hearing the case, directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate and submit a report.
