Hungary wants safe and sustainable repatriation of Rohingyas who fled Myanmar and took refuge in Bangladesh.

Hungary's visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Commerce Peter Sigjjarti, at the state guest house Padma, told reporters on Thursday (September 10).

"Every human being has the right to live in their own home," he said. Hungary will make every effort to persuade Myanmar to take back theRohingyas. Hungary supports all steps taken by Bangladesh and the United Nations on the Rohingya issue.

Earlier, he held a bilateral meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen. After that, the foreign ministers of the two countries took part in a joint press briefing. The Hungarian minister arrived in Bangladesh at midnight of Thursday (September 10).

The Hungarian Foreign Minister said that an agreement on mutual cooperation between the two countries has been signed. One of them is the exchange of training between the diplomats of the two countries.

He said Bangladesh has recently been working on setting up a nuclear power plant. Hungary has been working on this since the 70s. We are now using second stage technology. We have learned that the power plant in Bangladesh is being built by the State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) of the Russian Federation.

This company is also engaged in this work in Hungary. Hungary has 40 years of experience in this field. Therefore, 30 Bangladeshi engineers will be trained in Hungary every year.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister added that his country's medical services are of a very high standard. Bangladesh can take advantage of that.

Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen called on Hungary to invest in Bangladesh and highlighted the positive aspects of Bangladesh.
