Seminar on Virtual School held in Faridpur

Faridpur: A day long seminar titled “The role of Virtual School to ensure quality education” in Faridpur was held on Saturday (September 19) here at local Kabi Jasimuddin hall observing health roles.

The seminar organized by Faridpur district administration was attended by heads of secondary schools and madrasas of Faridpur Sadar upazilla.

Deputy Commissioner(DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar attended the seminar as the chief guest while it was chaired by District Education Officer Bishnu Pada Ghosal.

Prof. Rezvi Zaman presented the key- note paper in the seminar. In his key-note paper Rezvi Zaman mentioned the problems of education facing due to Covid -19 when the education institutions are closed for long time. He also informed the seminar that in this district at the initiative and personal intervention the program of virtual school has already been functioning with a positive feed back.

Addressing the seminar DC Atul Sarkar said despite corona pandemic local district administration with the cooperation of a group of digital friendly teachers has been imparting learning to the secondary students. Through this ‘virtual school’ learning about 40 percent students have been covered and expected to expand the coverage gradually. In spite of some lackings in technological infrastructure for imparting virtual education, still it is making contributions.

The seminar was also addressed among others Head Teacher Zainal Abedin Titon, Head Teacher Manirul Islam, ADC (Education & ICT) Md. Saiful Kabir, UNO of Sadar Masum Reza, Sadar upazilla chairman Abdur Razzak Molla, journalist Panna Bala of Prothom Alo, educationist Prof. Md. Shahjahan, Rajendra collage principal Prof. Moshrraf Ali, Sarada Sundary college principal Prof. Kazi Golam Mostofa and Yasin Collage principal Prof. Shila Rani Mondol, NGO activist Asma Akhtar Mukta.
