Naryanganj: Electrician Mubarak Hossain, who connected the illegal electrical line to the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the Fatullah West Talla area of Narayanganj, has given a confessional statement in the court that illegal connection was given to the mosque on the instructions of the committee.
He made the confession under Section 164 in the court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Kauser Alam on Tuesday (September 22) afternoon. The matter has been confirmed to the media by the court police inspector Asaduzzaman.
Earlier, on September 20, CID arrested electrician Mubarak Hossain and sought a five-day remand, but the court granted a two-day remand. Mubarak made the confessional statement in court on Tuesday after two-day remand.
According to court sources, Baitus Salat Jame Mosque had two electric connections. 1One connection was illegal. Mubarak Hossain has connected all the fans, lights and AC of the mosque with that illegal connection. It is learned that he did all these works on the instructions of the mosque committee.
Incidentally, on the night of September 4, the Baitus Salat Jame gas leak in the West Talla area caused an explosion in the mosque. So far 34 people have been killed in the tragic incident.
