Health Minister Zahid Malek has said that the second wave of coronavirus infection has started in the country.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of modernization of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital, quality medical services and expansion of education on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday (September 23).
Health Minister Zahid Malek said various ceremonies including weddings and picnics are held in winter. There is a risk of corona infection due to overcrowding.
For this reason, it is necessary to refrain from organizing these events. People are going out of the house in search of life and livelihood.
Indifference is being noticed in following the hygiene rules. However, the health department including doctors and nurses is ready to deal with the second wave.
The minister urged the people to abide by the health rules and called upon the media to come forward.
