The Directorate of Narcotics Control has seized a huge quantity of foreign liquor and beer in a raid at a Horse and Horse restaurant in the capital's Gulshan.
The operation was carried out from 10 pm to midnight on Wednesday (September 23).
Fazlur Rahman, Additional Director General of the Narcotics Control Directorate said the restaurant was selling unlicensed foreign liquor and beer on the opposite side of the old City Corporation building at 53 Gulshan Avenue. We conduct operations on the basis of a tip off.
Huge quantities of illicit liquor, beer and illicit drug Sisa lounge were recovered from there.
The raid led to the arrest of two people, including the restaurant manager for selling foreign liquor, beer and running a Sisa lounge without a license. Restaurant manager Md. Monir and Cashier Sarwar were arrested from the spot.
The two detainees and the restaurant owner will be prosecuted under the regular law.
203 bottles of foreign liquor of different brands, 610 cans of beer, two kg of banned Sisa lounge and three hookahs were seized from here.
