Not auto promotion, every student's merit will be assessed and promoted to next class, said Professor M. Ziaul Haque.

He made the remarks after a meeting with the education board chairmen on Thursday (September 24). Everything has changed in the Corona situation. In the changed circumstances, a meeting was held with the chairmen of the education boards on the assessment of the eighth class and passing on to the next class.

After the meeting, Professor Ziaul said, By December, the educational institutions will evaluate the students according to the syllabus. The educational institution will evaluate the students in its own process and promote to the next class. We will create a guideline for the evaluation process to be done properly. Guidelines will be prepared through the test development unit. According to that guideline, the students will be evaluated and passed to the next class.

About the time of giving the guidelines Professor M. Ziaul Haque said, ‘It will take some time to make guidelines. I have made a preliminary principal in the guideline. Class activities were held till last 15th March.
So far, television and online classes have been conducted, and if there is an opportunity to take classes in any given month, the assessment will be based on what has been taught by December’.

Professor Ziaul Haque said, ‘As much as it is not possible to teach, we will link up in the next class. I will link it up in such a way that when the class starts in the ninth grade, the part that needs to be taught in the eighth grade can also be covered. We will instruct the teacher in the ninth grade to finish the unfinished part of the eighth grade which is essential for the ninth grade’.

Asked if students will be assessed directly or online, Professor Ziaul Haque said, If it is possible in the classroom, it will be in the classroom. If it can be assessed online, it will be assessed. If it cannot be assessed online, then the teachers know the students. Students can be evaluated on that basis. The exact method of evaluation we cannot say at the moment. That depends on the situation. But will be evaluated.

If you want to know whether auto promotion will be given, Professor M. Ziaul Haque said, ‘There is no such thing as auto promotion. Everything will be based on evaluation’.

Asked if there would be an examination if the institution is opened, Professor Ziaul Haque said, "If the educational institution is opened, if our students can return to class, then the examination can take place (in their own educational institution)." If this is not the case, then the institutions that can take the test online (many institutions can now take the test online) will take whatever they can afford.

If you want to know about the evaluation of the class XI, Professor M. Ziaul Haque said, ‘In case of class XI, the educational institution will evaluate it in its own way and hand it over to the next class.

Regarding the sixth and seventh grades, Professor Ziaul Haque said, ‘The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education will surely give guidelines on the sixth and seventh grades. In case of ninth class, the educational institution will evaluate in its own process and pass to the next class. The ninth and tenth have a unified syllabus. One part of the syllabus is taught in ninth class, another part is taught in tenth class. There is no problem in that case. The rest of the lessons of the ninth grade will be taught in the tenth grade.
