Savar police have arrested Mizanur from Hemayetpur in connection with the much discussed murder of Nila Roy in Savar. Earlier in the morning, RAB-4 arrested Mizanur's mother and father.
He was arrested around 8 on Friday (September 25) evening. Dhaka District Additional Superintendent of Police Saidur Rahman confirmed the matter to Barta24.com.
According to the police, the police launched an operation to arrest the accused after Nila's murder. Mizanur's accomplice, the main accused, was first arrested. Mizanur was arrested from Hemayetpur today. The knife used in the murder was later recovered.
Dhaka District Additional Superintendent of Police Saidur Rahman said the main accused in Nila's murder has been arrested. All information will be announced through a press conference tomorrow.
Narayan Roy, the father of the deceased, has filed a case with the Savar Model Police Station in connection with the murder of Nila Roy, a tenth grader being stabbed by Mizanur Rahman.
Mizanur Rahman and his parents were named in the case. The accused went into hiding from Savar immediately after the case was filed.
It may be mentioned here that a young man named Mizanur Rahman was accused of stabbing to death a schoolgirl named Nila Roy in Bank Colony area of Savar on Sunday. Mizanur Rahman had been harassing Nila on the streets for a long time and offering love to her. As she did not respond to her offer, the young man stabbed Nila to death on his way home from the hospital at around 9 pm that day.
