Authority bans entry of outsiders in all colleges

The government has issued strict instructions regarding entry of outsiders in educational institutions after the incident of rape of a woman in the dormitory of MC College campus in Sylhet, which was closed during the corona period.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DGSH) education has ordered the closure of dormitories in public and private colleges across the country and the intensification of police patrols on campus.

On Tuesday (September 29) Deputy Director (College-1) Professor Shah Md. Amir Ali signed letter has been sent to the principals of all government and private colleges in the country regarding the implementation of 'government directives including ensuring safety in government and private colleges closed due to the outbreak of Covid-19'.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Education due to the outbreak of the global novel coronavirus, all educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 18.

‘The head of the institution should make an effort to ensure the security of all government resources and equipment of the college, including maintaining security on the college campuses due to the long closure of the institution. ’

The head of the institution has been specially requested to take nine-point steps on an urgent basis to implement the government directives including security and protection of assets in the college campus which has been closed for a long time.

> Online class activities should be continued and information about taking classes should be given to the regional director.

> Vigilance team should be formed in the institution and regular inspection report should be submitted to the head of the institution.

> Students need to monitor online class participation and connect with parents.

> .Students should be instructed to follow the hygiene rules.

> Unnecessary public access to the college campus should be banned.

> Necessary steps have to be taken to protect all government property and documents including science lab, ICT lab and library of the college.

> Dormitories must be closed and dormitory security must be ensured.

> All the entrances including the main gate of the institution should be guarded round the clock.

> Police patrols on campus should be intensified in collaboration with the local administration.

In the letter, the heads of all public and private colleges have been requested to implement the government directives in the public and private colleges which are currently closed due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
