Rifat killing, Minni and juvenile gang!

Dhaka: June 26, 2019. The whole country was shocked by the terrible news and video of a broad day light murder. Shahnewaz Rifat (Rifat Sharif) was killed by a gang of teenage gang bonds! in Barguna.

Their followers including Sabbir Ahmed Nayan alias Nayan Bond, Rifat Faraji and Rishan Faraji were seen taking part in the murder. CC TV footage also shows that Rifat's wife Ayesha Siddiqua Minni tried her best to save Rifat. Rifat was taken to Barguna Sadar General Hospital and later to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Rifat succumbed to his injuries that afternoon while undergoing treatment.

In the case of infernal murder, a case was filed mentioning the names of 12 people and more 5-6 people were made unknown accused. Slain Rifat's father Halim Dulal Sharif mentioned his daughter-in-law Minni a witness in the murder case filed with Barguna police.

Police started arresting the accused in the incident through arresting a teenager first. Most of the other accused were later arrested. Besides, Sabbir Ahmed Nayan alias Nayan Bond, the main accused in the case, was killed in an alleged gunfight with the police at Purba Burirchar village of Burirchar union in Barguna Sadar upazila on July 2, 2019.

Incidentally, a dramatic change took place when Rifat Sharif's father accused Ayesha Siddique Minni of being involved in the murder of Rifat Sharif and demanded his arrest and remand. Halim Dulal Sharif. He gave 10 specific reasons for Minni's involvement:

1. Minni's marriage to Nayan was concealed by her and her family.
   
   
2. While the marriage was in force, she married Rifat disobeying Sharia.
   
   
3. Even after her marriage to Rifat, Minni used to visit Nayan's house frequently and maintained regular contact with him. Nayan Bond's mother has given interviews to several news outlets with more information on the subject depicted the truth.
   
   
4. Minni went to Nayan's house on June 25 at around 9 in the morning and in the evening on the day before the incident.
   
   
5. Minni went to the college without Rifat on other days but called Rifat to the college on the day of the incident.
   
   
6. 6. Rifat went to bring Minni from the college on a motorcycle just before the incident, but Minni came up to the motorbike but was returning to the college for a while without seeing the presence of the conspirators and Rifat tried to bring Minni back which has been seen through video footage.
   Another new video footage released to the media showed Minni walking backwards in a very fluent manner when Rifat Faraji, Rishan Faraji and others grabbed her and took her to the east, which was not normal for a wife.
   
   
7. 8. The video footage also showed Minni grabbing the accused while harassing her husband, but none of the other accused, including the accused Nayan, attacked Minni even once and Minni was not attacked in the slightest.
   
   
8. While her husband Rifat was going to the hospital alone in a rickshaw in a wounded and blood-stained condition, Minni was busy packing her bags and sandals and one of the accused was picking up the bag from the road and handing it to Minni.

Denying her father-in-law's allegations, Ayesha Siddiqua Minni told a news conference, "Those who created the 007 messenger group allegedly with 124 rogue juveniles in Barguna who were very powerful and wealthy. So they are pressuring my father-in-law in various ways to stay away from the trial and are diverting the trial of Rifat's murder. I think this conspiracy is being hatched against me to hide the killers. '

Minni was brought to the police line on the morning of July 17, 2019 at the most dramatic stage of Rifat's murder. Police arrested Ayesha Siddiqua Minni for being initially involved in the murder of Rifat Sharif around 9:30 pm.

On August 29, 2019, the High Court granted bail to Ayesha Siddique Minni in the murder case of Rifat Sharif in Barguna on two conditions. The two conditions are that Minni will not be able to speak to the media and will have to be in the custody of her father.

Two months and six days after Rifat's murder, on the afternoon of September 1 last year, the police submitted two charge sheets in the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court in Barguna, dividing the 24 accused into two categories, adults and minors. Of these, 10 are adult offenders and 14 are juveniles.

On January 1, 2020, the Barguna District and Sessions Judge's Court framed charges against 10 adult accused in the Rifat murder case. On the other hand, on January 8, Barguna’s Children's Court framed charges against 14 juvenile accused in the Rifat murder case.

After the legal process of testimony, interrogation, etc., the verdict of death sentence of 8 people including slain Rifat Sharif’s wife Minni was pronounced on Wednesday (September 30). Minni, who came wearing a white robe on her father's motorcycle, was also taken to jail along with other death row convicts.

In the sensational Rifat murder case, not only Barguna, but also a terrrible image of a juvenile crime gang in Bangladesh came to light. It can be seen that it is a disgusting pattern of personal and social erosion, which will be discussed in the social reality of Bangladesh for a long time to come.
