National Productivity Day observed in Faridpur

The National Productivity Day was observed here at Faridpur in a befitting manner aiming to create mass awareness to raise productivity in all fields, including industrial, agriculture and service sectors.

The theme of the day this year is “Productivity In Building Golden Bengal – The Dream of the Father of the Nation”

In this connection a discussion meeting organized by local district administration was held on Friday(Oct.2) morning in the conference room of Deputy Commissioner(DC) of Faridpur.

DC Atul Sarkar was the chief guest in the meeting chaired by ADC (gen) Roksana Rahman.

A number of heads of departments of the district attended the meeting and took part in the deliberations.

Three multimedia presentations were done on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries departments in which the situation in the above mentioned important national matters in the district were projected.

DC Atul Sarkar said that despite manifold adversities, the rate of economic growth of the country is increasing steadily. The government is determined to achieve Vision-2021 and United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030.

Besides, we set our target to be a developed country by 2041. He stressed on micro-level economic movement to build a strong economy at the grass root level.

DC Atul further said that countries which can produce the high quality of goods at a lower cost will attain the advancement more easily. So there is no alternative other than increasing productivity.

He added that Bangladesh is considered as the role model of development as the government has given all-out efforts for ensuring sustainable economic and social development.

The discussion was participated among other CEO of Faridpur Zilla Parishad Amdur Rashid, educationist Prof. Md. Shahjahan, Sadar upazilla chairman and Awami League leader Abdur Razzaq Molla, district Fisheries officer Md. Manirul Islam, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Dr. Hazrat Ali,  district Livestock officer Dr. Nurullah Ahsan, DGM of BSCIC and Press club vice-president Saiful Islam Ohid.
