Gazipur: Mobile court of RAB has fined Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Taka 17 lakh for using substandard chemicals in the manufacture of hand sanitizers and packaging expired tea leaves.
RAB executive magistrate Sarwar Alam conducted the operation in Konabari area of Gazipur city on Sunday (October 4) at noon.
Sarwar Alam said ACI had been marketing their Tetley tea for an extended period. Besides, it was being sold in the market after the production of hand sanitizers made of low quality chemicals. This chemical is not to be used in making hand sanitizers. The court was conducted after knowing the fact. RAB has imposed a fine of Taka 17 lakh on the factory authorities.
RAB members including Abdullah Al Mamun, Company Commander of RAB's Pora Bari camp were present in the operation.
