Police have arrested Niaz Morshed, director of Mind Aid Hospital, in connection with the murder of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim.
Mrityunjay Dey Sajal, ADC of Tejgaon Division of the police, confirmed that he was arrested from the Neuro Science Hospital area of the capital around 5:30 pm on Tuesday (November 10).
He said a total of 11 people have been arrested in two days since the incident.
ASP Anisul was suffering from mental problems. He was brought to Mind Aid Hospital on Monday afternoon. Anisul's family complained that he was beaten to death by staff shortly after he was admitted to the hospital. The victim's father filed a murder case with Adabar police station.
Anisul Karim's brother Rezaul Karim said that Anisul lost his mental balance due to family problems. I took him to Mind Aid Hospital around 11:30 am on Monday. While filling the admission form at the counter, some employees took him to the first floor. Shortly afterwards, we were informed that Anisul had lost consciousness. From there I quickly took him to the National Heart Institute where the doctor pronounced him dead.
