Foreign Minister expressed his optimism for the repatriation of Rohingya. AK Abdul Momen said that after the recent elections in Myanmar, the Aung Suu Kyi government has enough time to erase its bad name by taking return of their citizens from Bangladesh.

He made the remarks during a brief visit to Rajshahi University on Saturday (November 14) afternoon.

The minister expressed hope that the new President Joe Biden's government would not have a belligerent attitude. As a result, further improvement of diplomatic relations with Bangladesh will take place. The new government will be more vocal, especially on trade, climate change and immigration.

Momen added that the Biden government is quite vocal about human rights, and that Biden may be vocal about human rights abuses in Myanmar.

Meanwhile, he said about the fires in some buses in the capital last Thursday, if anyone is doing this because of politics, they are going in the wrong direction. Those involved will be tried.

After inspecting various installations of RU, the minister took part in the 'Bangabandhu's Foreign Policy' program organized on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary at the Senate Building of Rajshahi University.
