The Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine has proved to be 95 percent effective against corona. The drug giant said the vaccine has already met the required safety standards. And so it will be submitted soon for urgent approval.
Pfizer and Bioentech said it plans to submit the vaccine to U.S. regulators "within a few days" for approval for emergency use before distribution to other countries around the world.
The UK regulator, Medicines and Health Care Product Regulatory Agency (MHRA), said the vaccine was ready for speedy approval which could mean that it will be distributed to priority groups from mid-December.
An analysis of the final efficacy of the vaccine showed that 95 percent of the volunteers survived the virus within 28 days of taking the first dose. It has been shown to be 94 percent effective in people over the age of 65.
The analysis further revealed that no serious bad news was found after receiving the vaccine. There is no concern about its safety. Of the 43,000 vaccinated, only 2% reported headaches and 3.8% reported fatigue.
