Prime Minister stresses on strong modern border guards

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to increase the use of information technology to curb crime at the Bangladesh border to protect sovereignty and Independence.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the government is working to strengthen and modernize the border force. As part of Smart Border Management, the border has been added to the new BPs, BSP construction and modern surveillance equipment, ATV and modern APC, vehicle scanners and fast-moving vehicles. The members of the B.B.I. must acquire professional skills to prevent smuggling at the country's borders. The use of modern information technology to eliminate trafficking, child trafficking, drug trafficking at the border should also be enhanced.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the inauguration of training session of the 95th Recruit Batch of the B.C.B.I., at the Border Guard Training Centre and College (BgTC&C) BirUttam Mujibur Rahman Parade Ground in Satkania, Chittagong on Saturday (December 5).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the event through video conference from the jan Gono bhavan.

The oath and the ritual of the new soldiers started with the Prime Minister's state salute.

Calling for the service of the people, the Prime Minister said, "We have to act with a service attitude towards the people and the country. Discipline is the main identity of the soldier. The true soldier who never gets behind in order and duties."

Honesty, intelligence, reliability, loyalty, strength and motivation are the criteria of a force's discipline and professional skills.

The Prime Minister asked the BGB men to follow the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Director General of BGB Major General Md. Safinul Islam, B.B.M., NDC, PSC gave welcome speech.

As special guest, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Senior Secretary of Public Security division Mostafa Kamaluddin were joined by video conference.
