From Padma Bridge site: Construction of the Padma bridge had begun in December 2014 and that bridge is going to be completed in December 2020. The entire 6.15 meters of the Padma Bridge will be visible as per the design in this month. This is another victory in the month of victory!
The liberation that was achieved 49 years ago in exchange for the blood of 30 lakh martyrs, the 17 crore people of Bangladesh is going to enjoy a different taste of that freedom. This is the month of victory again. If the weather is favorable, the last and the 41st span of the dream Padma Bridge is going to be installed on Thursday (today).
And the last milestone in history will begin with this span installing. This Padma Bridge will tell the whole world about the courage of Bangladesh today. This month of victory, the whole world will know Bangladesh again.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday (December 9) afternoon, China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Limited, a contractor engaged in the construction of the main bridge of the Padma Bridge project, lifted the 41st span from Mawa Construction Yard to the designated pillar in a floating crane. And this span will be set on the 12th and 13th pillars of the bridge.
Construction of the Padma Bridge began in December 2014. Then the first span of the dream bridge was installed in 2017.
It is to be noted that China Major Bridge Engineering Company (MBEC), a Chinese contractor, is working on the construction of the main bridge and Sino Hydro Corporation, another company in the country, is working on river training.
