The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Monday (December 14). The notification was later published in the form of a gazette.

It has been said that in order to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the great architect of independent Bangladesh, the government declared the period from March 17, 2020 to March 26, 2021 as Mujib Year. Due to the global pandemic of Covid-19, the programs taken to celebrate the Mujib Year could not be carried out in a timely manner. Incidentally, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on 17 March 1920 in Tungipara, Gopalganj. On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu, the government took initiative to celebrate 'Mujiboarsho'. However, the various programs adopted when the corona virus pandemic started in the country last March could not be carried out.
